Ian Shih, PhD
Director of the Center for Animal MRI
Neurology and Biomedical Engineering
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Dr. Shih is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. He is also the Director of Center for Animal MRI (CAMRI) and Associate Director for the Biomedical Research Imaging Center at UNC. Dr. Shih’s lab is interested in the use of electrophysiology, fiber-photometry, fast-scan cyclic voltammetry, optogenetics, chemogenetics, and electrical microstimulation in MRI environment, with a goal to understand how cellular activity and endogenous neurotransmission affect fMRI signals. His lab is also interested in improving fMRI methods for animal applications.
