Dr. Thomas Brown, an internationally renowned oncologist, and cancer researcher has served as the Chief Medical Officer at Syapse since October 2019. He is an affiliate faculty member of the Institute for Systems Biology. Prior to joining Syapse, he served as Executive Director of the Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI) in Seattle. Dr. Brown’s lengthy academic career has included serving as Professor of Medicine and Chief Operating Officer of the University of Arizona Cancer Center and also serving on the faculty of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for a decade.

Dr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from Rice University. A graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, he completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Florida and a fellowship in medical oncology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
