The National Center for Adaptive Neurotechnologies (NCAN) is the only neurotechnology center in the country that is funded by NIH and that works with patients. Its goal is to transform the diagnosis and treatment of nervous system disorders through patient-centered innovative advances in adaptive neurotechnologies. NCAN pushes the frontiers of basic and translational research and represents the field’s academic advances to scientists and the public in hundreds of journal articles, text books, and patents. With the goal of truly personalizing medicine using adaptive neurotechnologies, NCAN is changing the diagnosis and treatment of patients with spinal cord injury, ALS and epilepsy.
