Airdate: Thursday, February 29, 2024 Season: 3 Episode: 1
Guest: Meaghan Loy
On this episode of #ShareScience, we spoke with Meaghan Loy, Senior Category Director of In Vivo Services with Scientist.com, on Rare Disease Day.
A disease is rare when it affects fewer than 1 in 2,000 people. Research needs to be international to ensure that experts, researchers, and clinicians are connected. In this episode, Meaghan explains her perspective on clinical trials, having recently been involved in one. After years of performing research within the biopharma industry, she was diagnosed with an orphan and rare disease that unfortunately required less than ideal treatment options.
Listen to hear the full story of Meaghan's journey from behind the microscope to under it, and what she learned along the way.
