Striatech is a young biotech company that spun off from the University of Tübingen, Germany, at the beginning of 2018. The founders – a team of neurobiologists – are all experienced vision researchers and have made it their common goal to make innovative ideas and products from vision and behavioral research accessible to scientists worldwide.
Research on eye diseases and vision disorders is usually carried out with rodents – especially mice and rats. It is essential that the researcher can identify how well the animal sees. Unlike humans, animals cannot simply be asked about their eyesight.
To solve this problem, we have developed the OptoDrum: a reliable and objective device for measuring the vision of rodents. With the OptoDrum, the visual performance of rodents can be measured fully automated and non-invasive.
