Tanishq Vaidya, is a junior studying at the University of California, Davis. He is originally from Sacramento, California. At UC Davis, he is majoring in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and am pursuing a minor in Psychology. He is also a member of the Gomes Lab, where he conducts research in cellular physiology and mechanics, particularly concerning cardiovascular function. Ever since he first learned of the cell, its complexities and organization have fascinated him, and conducting his research lets me freely explore this fantastic subject while making meaningful contributions to the field. Engaging in research has also allowed him to train in various exciting skills, such as proteomics which he loves to utilize to make novel observations. His career aspirations lie in the medical field, where along with continuing to conduct groundbreaking research, he aspire to directly aid patients as a cardiothoracic surgeon.
