Biography

Yalda Moayedi is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Neurology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Associate Director of the Thompson Family Foundation Preclinical Models Core in Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy and Sensory Neuroscience at Columbia University. Dr. Moayedi’s main research interests lie in the neural basis of somatosensation, with a focus on cells and circuits that underlie oral and upper airway mechanosensation in humans and animal models. She received her BS in Neurobiology from University of Texas in Austin and her PhD in Neuroscience from Baylor College of Medicine in the labs of Drs. Graeme Mardon and Andrew Groves. She completed her postdoctoral training at Columbia University with Dr. Ellen Lumpkin.
